Program for the 1st Annual Festival
The 1st annual Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival - Keiki Kine at Ka Makana Ali‘i will begin at 11:00 AM on April 4, 2026. Six NextGEN steel guitarists from Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music, ages 9 and above, will be featured, presenting their individual programs of steel guitar music. Emcee will be Jake Kuliaikanu‘u Fernandez.
Steel Guitar Hands-On Opportunities
Festival guests will be offered hands-on opportunities to experience the steel guitar under the guidance of steel guitar expert Claude Kutaka.

The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival - Keiki Kine at Ka Makana Ali‘i poster was designed by Addison Ching and features pictures of the NextGEN performers superimposed on an image of a Magnatone Student Model steel guitar with "Mother of Toilet Seat" pearloid finish.
