The 2018 Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival at Windward Mall was held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Kane'ohe's Windward Mall. This festival began at 1 P.M. and featured four Next Generation steel guitar players and musicians age 10 and older and seven favorite steel guitar masters from O'ahu singing and playing Hawaii's favorite Hawaiian music.
This festival was presented free to the public by Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE) and the Windward Mall.
This year's festival followed the Spring Concert of the Ke Kula Mele Hawaii School of Hawaiian Music. This concert featured student musicians on 'ukulele, bass and Hawaiian steel guitar in an hour of Hawaiian music entertainment. This one-hour concert began at 11 A.M., and was also free to the public.
